Physician Software Systems was formed in late 2010 to commercialize a world-renowned medical education and research institution’s innovative approach to managing the anemia experienced by patients undergoing hemodialysis. The institution’s advanced software system helps to manage individualized patient dosing of Erythropoietic Stimulating Agents (ESAs). Use of the system reduces variability in hemoglobin levels (i.e. hemoglobin cycling). It therefore lowers the risk of hemoglobin cycling side effects such as anemia, weakness, increased risk of thrombosis, stroke, and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
