Piaro is a product design & development firm based in Collingwood, ON, Canada. Founded in 2017, our ambition is to create connected products that bring digital intelligence, data insights, and functional value to physical spaces, and the people who live and work in them. We believe that the best smart devices are ones that blend into your everyday lives enriching your experience within the environment, without getting in the way. The IoT market is maturing and demanding interoperable solutions that drive value to the consumer. For a device to be “smart”, it needs to do more than be connected (or dependent) on the Internet. We see a future where ubiquitous devices such as light switches, luminaries, and electrical outlets form an invisible digital fabric capable of optimizing energy usage, and having real-time contextual understanding of physical spaces and the people and assets within it.
