Joan Adams has been a consultant to industry for over 15 years. Upon leaving ATKearney, she started Pierian Consulting. Pierian’s mission is to bring sustained success through operational excellence and competitive market strategies. Her clients have ranged from Outokumpu, Expand, UNICEF, American Express, Textron, MasterCard and many NIB, NISH agencies. Pierian Consulting focuses on bringing Lean techniques and market strategies to smaller businesses.(Joan is a fully certified NIST Lean Expert). Pierian has over 20 clients with revenues from $1-$100 million. Client businesses run the gamut of products and services: books, industrial distributor), medical supplies, remediation and repair, financial institutions, to name a few. Pierian has introduced Lean to many NISH (National Institute for the Severely Handicapped) and NIB (National Institute for the Blind) agencies – making the work safer and more fulfilling and the projects more profitable by, shortening order to ship times and dramatically reducing defects.
