Pinay Collection is not your average Filipina clothing shop - we cultivate the power of words and reclaim them. The words used in our designs have been known to diminish and shame Filipina/xs; and we think this is what makes our line unique, beautiful, and rich with resistance. Unlike other Filipino clothing lines that use barongs, ternos, or indigenous weaving to show a link to Filipino culture, the Pinay Collection embraces Filipina/x identity by boldly featuring Tagalog words like ‘maarte’, ‘lakwatsera’, and ‘suplada.’
