Pinder Trust
A grant giving charity to help the disabled access pool based aquatic physiotherapy. The Pinder Trust was founded in 1972 by local lady Miss Margaret Pinder to provide much-needed aquatic physiotherapy in the Winchester area. The original Pinder Centre hydrotherapy pool was in Avington, five miles east of Winchester. The original Centre closed in 2012 but the Trust has continued to subsidise hydrotherapy treatment for patients at other sites. Several years ago, The Trust recognised that there was great demand for a modern hydrotherapy centre in a more central location. When Winchester City Council began developing plans for a new leisure centre, the Trust saw the opportunity to fund a new facility - and The Pinder Hydrotherapy Pool was born. The Pinder Hydrotherapy Pool is a brand new state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool which opened in May 2021. The Pinder Trust provided funding to build the hydrotherapy pool within the new Winchester Sport and Leisure Park. The aim is to provide a community use hydrotherapy pool beneficial for all to access.
