Pingwyn

Pingwyn is a mobile, location-based networking platform that enables users to share their location continuously – without the need to check in. With most location-based apps the focus is on “what”. Their maps display coffee shops, gas-stations, restaurants, etc. With Pignwyn the focus is on “who”. The key premise at conception was to put people on the map and to enable them to connect with each other, display a public profile, publish and share content. Other features include the ability to visit remote locations virtually, the ability to post public Pings, and the ability to track the location of family members, who might be hidden from the main map. When a user logs into the app they see a map with icons for all of the people around them. When the user taps any of these icons they open the other user's Public Profile and have the ability to send that user an instant message or an invite to connect. Other features include: List of Inner Circle users – to keep track of important contacts you’ve located via Pingwyn. Free Pings – mobile craigslist-type classifieds – and your Pings go where you go. Visit remote locations virtually – to explore users at a trade-show for instance. iTracking – the ability to track the location of family members, even when they hide their location from the rest of the users. PingLink – where you can find the Pings (or classifieds) of the users closest to you. Public Profile – you are in control of what personal information is shared.
