Avraam Pittakis & Sons Ltd. was established in 1974 by Avraam Pittakis in Paralimni. From the outset, the company focused on rock sales, limestone powder, sprits and feedstuff. Later on, it developed with the construction of technical works. With the passing of time, the company focused and promoted the manufacture of construction materials such as a wide variety of adhesives (suitable for tiles, granites, stones, polystyrenes EPS & XPS, plasterboard, floor heating, tesserae, and glass blocks), joint grouts, compounds, plasters, mortars, textured coatings, waterproofing slurries, and thermal & sounds insulation products. The company’s logo name is Paralimnitiko, and was introduced in the late 1986. The idea had come from a company’s product, named ‘Paralimnitiko Ready Mixed Sprits’, which had been preferable from the rest of consumers in Cypriot Market. It was considered the first important success of the company as it had been initially recognized in the market with this particular product, and as a result, almost everyone in the market was calling the company ‘Paralimnitiko’. Consequently the decision was to introduce officially ‘Paralimnitiko’ as a logo name but at the same time to keep the initial company’s name ‘Avraam Pittakis & Sons Ltd’ as a respect to the founder and his earlier followers. Having steered a remarkable course in the building sector to date, the company has managed to become a dynamic company leading in the construction sector in Cyprus. This has been achieved mainly by adhering unfalteringly to a long-term business plan within the framework of which relatively daring strategic initiatives were undertaken. The year 2006, we signalled a new chapter in company’s history: the purchase and the installation of new state-of-the-art machinery that conforms to all safety, health and environmental standards, creating a technological first and bench mark for Cyprus. This unit is one of the most modern of its kind throughout the Mediterranean.
