PIV is a record label and event organization, founded in 2015. Serving as a platform for talented producers with a soft spot for the classic US house era, the label was conceived to build upon the foundation of the original electronic music coming from places like New York and Chicago in the 80’s and 90’s. The imprint’s founders are using their Dutch/Indonesian heritage as a cultural aspect to create an unique blended output, which is significantly visible in the artworks and merchandise of the label. Transcending this philosophy onto the events, the label strives to continuously create an atmosphere with the emphasis on inclusiveness, hence the meaning behind the brand: People Invited and VIP spelled backwards. Being based in the vibrant nightlife of Amsterdam, the label hosts several club nights, organizes social events and festivals, while growing rapidly cross border with various showcases in Berlin, Ibiza, Malta and Indonesia. Artists that have contributed to the label over the years with either releases or performances include the likes of Apollonia, Kenny Dope, Archie Hamilton, Boo Williams, Fred Everything, Jovonn, Alix Alvarez, Cinthie, Djebali, Ben Rau, Deetron, Shur-I-Kan, Phil Weeks, Leo Pol, Paolo Rocco, Ed Herbst, Nick Beringer, Alex Arnout, Clara Da Costa, Citizenn, Mike Sharon, The Willers Brothers, 2Vilas, Yusuke Yamamoto, Studioheist, Anthony Mea, Phaze Dee, Montel, Lucas Keizer, Roland Nights, Sebb Junior and many more. The label’s own roster consists of a variety of distinguished producers like Prunk and Chris Stussy, while being a fertile soil for several upcoming talents in Europe like Sinjo, Jesse Maas, Bas Roos and BONJ to name a few. Being a forward thinking label also means expanding on the various platforms for EP releases. In light of this, the label established PIV Limited, to start serving the high demand for vinyl releases in the years to come.
