BACKGROUND Phillip Khan-Panni is a speaker and a business consultant with a background in speciality selling, advertising and direct marketing. He was Senior Copywriter at Reader's Digest for eight years, and has probably won more public speaking contests than anyone in Europe. In August 2010, the BBC invited the public to submit mini speeches to the nation, to mark the 70th anniversary of Churchill's wartime rallying speech. They chose his and placed it on the Home page of the BBC News website ( A national newspaper employed him to double classified ad revenue in a single year. Using daring tactics he tripled the revenue in just 10 months (in today's terms) from £9.5m to £29.5m. He then joined a magazine publisher as advertisement manager and was Managing Director within a year. In public speaking he has been Anglo-Irish Champion three times, the UK's first World No.2 and Inaugural UK Business Speaker of the Year. He is a co-Founder of the Professional Speaking Association (PSA) in and was its Marketing Director for the first four years. He has published eight books on communication skills including The FT Guide to Making Business Presentations and Stand & Deliver: Leave Them Stirred not Shaken.
