PLACES Associates, Inc. is a dynamic and growing, small civil engineering services company. While others may offer a few services, PLACES provides a full suite of multi-disciplinary services – from concept to completion and close-out – to meet our client’s design, land-use, and construction needs. Our expertise includes complete land planning, landscape architectural design, civil engineering, hydrology, environmental permitting, and land surveying services - along permitting and certification to ensure our clients’ projects achieve successful completion. PLACES is proud to tackle the requirements of today's complex sites and design challenges. We offer cost-effective problem-solving, the latest "green" and low impact design techniques, and adherence to the fluidity of evolving stormwater regulatory processes. Our extensive experience qualified us as a design team member for a LEED Gold-Certification awarded project. Our clients and their ventures span a wide range of projects from commercial to industrial, municipal, institutional and recreational, and from residential developers to single-family homeowners. PLACES plans, designs, and engineers solutions - from complex municipal sites, such as fire stations and hospital complexes, to small local projects like dog parks, and large land-use projects like planned residential developments. PLACES Associates, Inc. was established in 2009 as a Massachusetts Certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE). Over the past 13 years, the company founders, Sue Carter, P.E. LEED AP and Bill Murray, ASLA, APA, CLARB grew a multidisciplinary team to include Registered Engineers, Landscape Architects, Land Surveyors, Title 5 Certified Soil Evaluators and System Inspectors, Energy and Environmental Design Professionals, Wetland Delineators and other technical support staff. We also regularly collaborate with an extensive network of specialized consultants to address any issues that arise in the land development process.
