Taking local availability into account, PlateAI goes beyond suggestions. Users can order precisely measured meal kits aligned with recommendations. In Dar es Salaam, our Pilot City, we are establishing a geofenced network of grocery stores for convenient access. This initiative addresses prevalent unhealthy dietary patterns in Tanzania—often monotonous and carb-loaded—linked to a sedentary lifestyle, contributing to 34% of all deaths. PlateAI strives to break this cycle, offering varied and health-focused options. With PlateAI, people can enjoy healthy meals made with locally sourced ingredients, which can help reduce the risk of developing diet-related diseases, reduce food waste, and minimize post-harvest loss.
