Platform Anthropocene Inc

Platform anthropocene is a non-profit organization founded in 2017. At Platform anthropocene Inc. we aim at providing people with the necessary critical information to realize their behavioural leverage, and how much we can do for sustainable life within the Earth system, from individual to community and governance levels, by transforming the way we do things, from tooth brushing to financial investment and policy making. The Anthropocene as a geological age admits humans as a planetary-scale player in transforming the Earth system. In the definition of the Anthropocene, the scale of human impact on several dimensions of Planet Earth is such that it will be recorded in the geological and climatic records, thousands, and millions of years into the future. Realizing and understanding the transformative potential of human activities on the environment is a precursor to informing and encouraging mitigation and adaptation actions. In a world were 65% of the 169 targets underlying the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can only be reached with the proper engagement of, and coordination with, local and regional governments (Sustainable Development Solutions Network estimates), behavioural change has great potential to accelerate the uptake of available technological innovation. At Platform anthropocene Inc, we are convinced that broad and facilitated access to high-quality information on how humans transform the environment, is key to inform critical decisions at all levels, from individual to community and governance, and across scales, from household to city, across local social and ecosystems, and internationally.
