Playbuild

PlayBuild transforms vacant lots in urban neighborhoods into play environments to teach kids about design and architecture. We engage 4-12 year old kids in learning through play using custom-designed large scale toys and equipment, and other design-themed hands-on activities. In 2012, we started working in Central City New Orleans and over the past 5 years, have turned a 30x90 empty lot into an outdoor classroom where we now host after-school programs, field trips and summer camps. We also run programs in schools around the City and produce design-themed play experiences at events around New Orleans. We want to inspire kids to engage with their surroundings and pursue future careers in design.
