Pleadthe8th is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on educating and advocating for a more restorative approach to justice that advances proportional punishment, racial equality, constructive corrections culture, second chances, and rehabilitative programs that aid in the successful transition into the community for those that were incarcerated as children. We seek to inspire, educate, and empower communities to take action to improve and promote equality and justice in their communities. We believe that everyone in the justice system should be treated equally, regardless of race, gender, religion, socioeconomic status or background. Our name derives from the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution that prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. Our organization has a strong focus on youth incarceration in the state of Florida. We believe that many states violate the Eighth Amendment and basic human rights standards of youth in the justice system.
