Plenum Architecture

Plenum Architecture is an employee-owned and operated public benefit corporation that believes Oaklanders deserve to have their imaginations sparked and their dreams realized. We collaborate with community and ethics-oriented owners and businesses, developers, civic agencies and other AEC firms to evince small commercial spaces; community-centric spaces, social housing and ADUs in historically excluded communities. Design starts with us. Built to reflect Oakland, we are members of the communities we serve, always working to further include under-represented people in our organization through our hiring, training, and contracting practices. Plenum is committed to creating new models that seek to deliberately serve our multicultural community. Echoing indigenous philosophies, at Plenum, we are not just stewards of the earth, we are integral participants in its generative processes: custodians. Our approach to sustainability centers health and justice alongside cradle-to-cradle thinking that addresses and mitigates the effects of the climate crisis.
