Plugstreet 14-18 experience" opens with a scenographic space of about 400 m2, equipped with technology that promotes interaction. The scenography illustrates in a didactic manner the international dimension of the 14-18 conflict, as well as its repercussions in the Comines-Warneton region, ravaged by four years of deadly battles and hardships. Numerous photographs from private collections draw particular attention. They recount the often difficult coexistence of civilians and armed forces: in the east, Comines is a German garrison; in the west, Ploegsteert is in the hands of British forces, and Warneton is literally crossed by the front line. Thus,"Plugstreet 14-18 experience" allows us to better understand the specificity of our territory in 14-18. The Interpretation Center offers a moving and unique view of the tragedy that severely struck the southernmost part of the Ypres Salient.
