Er misst sekundenschnell die Refraktion beider Augen gleichzeitig binokular und medikamentös unbeeinflusst aus einem Meter Entfernung zum Kind. Als Messergebniss wird die Vollrefraktion Sphäre, Zylinder und Achse, die Symmetrie der Hornhautreflexe, Pupillendurchmesser und Pupillendistanz angegeben.
