After photographing more than 100 weddings over the past several years, I’ve really come to understand the value in the slower, more mindful moments of a wedding day. Couples often ask me “what is one bit of advice would you give about planning a wedding?” My honest answer: take time to sneak away. This day goes by so fast. Your sense of time can feel completely warped with all of the wonderful tummy-turning emotions and interactions. In the blink of an eye the ceremony is over and it’ll be time to hit the dance floor! Sure, celebrating with your guests is great but try and plan to take 10 minutes after your ceremony to let it all sink in… Or sneak away for some sunset magic with a glass of champagne… I’ll snap a few photos then sneak away. That small moment of personal time may just be your favorite part of the whole day.
