Popobell is a design studio and shop creating DIY party decorations, paper goods, clothing, and thoughtful gifts that bring wonder into everyday life. We believe there is magic in little things. Simple, often-overlooked details can spark a sense of wonder and happiness. Whether it’s a warm cup of coffee, a beautiful sunset, or a kind gesture, joy often comes from the smallest moments. The brand began in 2012, when Indonesian designer Gisela Zeng realized how difficult it was to find party decor that felt personal, beautiful, and not generic. She started illustrating her own pieces, and in 2013 launched Popobell to offer customizable printable party decorations that parents could edit and print at home. This gave families the freedom to create cohesive, design-driven celebrations without hiring a private designer. Every visual element in a Popobell product is hand-illustrated, not taken from stock sites and AI-generated. This ensures each design carries artistic sensitivity, originality, and the personal touch of human creativity. In 2021, Popobell expanded from digital party printables into physical goods, including themed party paperware, apparel, and gifts. Whether chosen to match a celebration or simply to brighten daily life, each item is crafted with the same attention to storytelling, illustration, and detail that defines the brand. The name Popobell is inspired by tanpopo (the Japanese word for dandelion) combined with bell, symbolizing a tiny chime carried by the wind. It represents the heart of the brand: joy that travels, spreads, and leaves a little magic wherever it lands.
