Posse Empowerment

At its centre, Posse Empowerment is devoted to the equitable representation of females and females of color in STEAM. Our mission is to Change the Narrative of how women, especially women of color, are perceived in these competitive fields. We strive to cultivate a generation of leaders that will be empowered in STEAM. Posse Empowerment offers two programs: LittleSTEAM — a mentorship program for girls in grades K-8; and the Big Buddy Program — a program offering the opportunity for girls in grades 9-12 to practice and build leadership. Compared to other STEM-based programs, Posse Empowerment prides itself on going beyond the scope of traditional STEM, implementing art and culture within various programs. The fine arts stimulate critical thinking and creativity that is imperative to tackle the problems in the modern world. Thus, it is one of our many goals to give all of our young leaders a well-rounded education in all aspects of STEAM and the occupations within.
