Poundcake Bakery

POUNDCAKE Bakery is a specialty bakery that opened in downtown Lisle, IL in 2019. Poundcake is our lead product and we offer standard and traditional flavors, In addition to POUNDCAKE, Pies are our next largest category of product; including Fruit, Cream, Chocolate and seasonal flavors, Pound cakes and our other offerings are available for special events, gift baskets, holidays and much more! In addition to Poundcake and Pies, Quiches, Pot Pies and Scones are daily favorites, as well as Bar cookies. POUNDCAKE Bakery was founded in 2017 by Bev Hudson. While the brick and mortar store opened in August, 2019; POUNDCAKE Bakery started many years ago as Bev is 100% Polish and grew up baking with her mom and grandmother, in “sweet home, Chicago”. As family and the network of friends grew, Bev always baked and baked with special people who often asked about the sale of pound cake. This led Bev towards opening her store in Downtown Lisle. Bev is dedicated to keeping the tradition of pound cake alive while going forward with new creations, in new space and with her new company. We outgrew the original space on Day 1 and opened a larger store also in downtown Lisle, subsequently closing the first one. Our current space has seating for 24, an espresso machine, and an expanded amount of our offerings on a daily basis. We have recently in 2023 opened a satellite store in downtown Downers Grove; to meet customer demand.( All of the baking is done in Lisle) Bev’s journey to start POUNDCAKE Bakery evolved during a successful career in healthcare; working in biotechnology, medical devices and clinical trials. Her daughter Liz is a metastatic breast cancer survivor and a wonderful pie baker; we donate a percentage of pie sales to HERE FOR THE GIRLS in honor of Liz. Pies are available for sale at the store and donations are also accepted. In her business and personal life, Bev is fond of a quote from Daniel Burnham “Do no small things”.
