Conventional wisdom is that there is no manual on parenting. Yet the last two decades have seen a flood of books, articles, seminars and workshops on how to parent. Research on brain development has also exploded in the last few years, promising to help us further fine-tune the way we understand and parent, especially adolescents. How do we make good use of the limited, precious time we have as parents, educators and mental health professionals in order to make sense of all this important material? Practical Help for Parents provides an online support community for parents of teens, with a variety of resources to help parents, educators and mental health professionals support the teens in their lives. We also offer informative, entertaining, school-based presentations for parents and educators. The goal is to give you or your school practical, relevant presentations on the complexities of working with and understanding adolescents and pre-adolescents.
