Philosophy: Presence Design has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to undertake diverse projects, even without precise experience with that particular building type. Architecture is both analytical and intuitive, both a science and an art. In order to benefit our clients and society our architecture must succeed functionally and conceptually. We favor commissions with complex programs built around people, processes, and ideas. Architectural character is generated in response to the special needs of both user and a distinctive site. We actively seek out projects that possess these qualities. Presence Design is dedicated to producing architecture that fulfills our clients’ objectives beyond their expectations and has a positive effect on its users, the community and the environment. Within each geographical context, our work is strongly based on evolving architectural solutions that employ the most contemporary environmental strategies and techniques. An architectural solution must produce visual continuity over time and reflect a fundamental harmony with its context. In the search for a regional expression we look for these qualities that transcend the individual building and reflect architecture’s place as an integrated part of the environment. Our firm never dictates or limits the solution to a particular style of architecture. We have no preconceptions about the final form or function of a project. Our signature as a design firm stems from exceptional focus on projects as individual solutions for specific needs. Our designs are an expression of the belief that architecture is an active participant in the user’s daily life.
