Presentation College Athenry

This is the official Presentation College Athenry LinkedIn account. It is maintained by our Alumni Relations. The College is a voluntary Catholic Secondary School under the trusteeship of the Catholic Education an Irish Schools Trust (CEIST). Situated in the town of Athenry in Galway, West of Ireland, it continues today a tradition which commenced in 1908 with primary education and in the late 1920’s as secondary education was provided by the Presentation Sisters. Building: Located in the centre of Athenry town, Presentation Athenry originated in a building at the rear of the convent. In 1951 a new building, the Technology Block, with 5 classrooms was opened. The main school building was opened in 1982, with local fundraising undertaken for the gymnasium. These buildings are still in use but are soon to close. In November 2017 construction began on a new greenfield site at Ballygarraun Athenry. Completion of this new Presentation College Athenry school is planned for 2019. A fundraising initiative has commenced to enhance the facilities for the students at this school.#Pitch4Pres Past Pupils are welcome to attend reunions to bid farewell to the school which will close its doors for the final time in 2019.
