Pride Academy

Pride Academy is an emerging not-for-profit organisation backed by the Foundation for Young Australians. We create innovative workshops to empower the next generation of LGBTQIA+ young people. Together we build pride in who they are and who they can be. While the last few years have seen the LGBTQIA+ community make progress in securing greater acceptance, it is still unacceptably difficult to be a queer young person today. At Pride Academy, we believe students can overcome these obstacles when equipped with the right knowledge, skills and mentorship. By nurturing the qualities that make our community powerful and resilient, we hope to unlock students’ potential and empower them to lead a life they love. Pride Academy offers a safe space for students to understand themselves, build resilience and connect to the wider LGBTQIA+ community. Our program is delivered by queer- identifying facilitators over multiple workshops. Participants experience engaging activities that allow students to envision a positive life roadmap for themselves. By the end, students are not only empowered to realise their potential but champion inclusion and equality as leaders in their communities.
