Pride In Bournemouth

Pride in Bournemouth is the biggest, most vibrant and exciting public art event the town has ever seen. In the summer of 2011 there will be a pride of individually painted life-size lions decorating our streets, beach areas and public spaces. It is the perfect follow-on event from Bournemouth 200 bicentenary celebrations, as it will showcase the towns heritage and achievements both past and present, with designs on the future. Proudly displaying our talent and creativity and our pride in Bournemouth. It is based on a highly successful and arts model from Wild in Art (see that will bring the arts and business communities together for the benefit of the town. This world-class event will attract tourists to Bournemouth as well as encouraging residents to see their town afresh. It will aim to achieve a significant economic, social and cultural impact through the engagement of Bournemouth’s public and private sectors together with the creative and local communities while highlighting the town on the national and international stage. Ultimately, it is hoped that Pride in Bournemouth will also raise significant funds for charity when the lions take centre stage in a charity auction, while at the same time leaving behind the legacy of a newly invigorated arts scene.
