We can actually change what we believe about ourselves. Often people who have experienced sexual trauma learn to think that “I am weak. I don’t matter. I have to please everybody, and I can’t make mistakes.” Those thoughts are really not true, but if you believe that, then you will act as though you are weak and unimportant. If you want to learn, change, and grow, then take the opportunity to step out and renew your way of thinking. Take a chance and change what you believe. My clients have the opportunity to talk about their issues, learn tools to change what they believe, and live life without the burden of the past and shame. I am Rhonda Miller, Licensed Professional Counselor in Columbus Georgia. I work with women who have experienced sexual trauma and I work with lady veterans who have experienced trauma in the War Zone. In July 2012, I retired after 29 years of employment with Roosevelt Warms Springs Institute for Rehabilitation. In September 2012, I started a private practice. I am loving it!
