Imagine an organization conceived in data liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that your information rights have value and protecting them is a duty! The Privacy Co-op is helping to establish an industry standard for the Duty of Care by changing a zero-sum game into a non-zero-sum game! The Privacy Co-op is a legally formed cooperative association that operates as a Not for Profit with the sole focus of protecting the value of your rights. All of our members (like you) are equals with a single vote each. Together, we help groups of consumers self-form into classes that have power to make businesses stop using our information, and power to make businesses pay us our fair share when they do use our data. Members are our lifeblood. When you open an account (one-time only $65 US), you join countless others in demanding our fair share when businesses use your information for secondary purposes and profit. Once expenses are met, it’s you, the members, that equally divide the dividends, benefiting from the value of your rights. For free, the co-op provides info and tools to opt-out of businesses using your information. We then fight like tigers to get companies to honor their own privacy policies and their customers’ wishes. There’s power in numbers. Businesses that want to honor their own privacy policies are becoming Initiates in the co-op for free! They are stepping up to better understand your concerns and the global legal landscape. As they consider becoming full Affiliates, they're taking a pledge to honor and even improve their own privacy policies. Affiliates are businesses that not only step-up to honor their own privacy policies, they go the extra mile to license the secondary use of customer information.
