WHAT WE DO: ProAcqua is a company dedicated to tackling the huge issue of global plastic bottle pollution. We do this by providing innovative and real alternatives to bottled water, specifically and uniquely in an outdoor setting. Since its founding in 2005, ProAcqua has been providing Italian designed water refill stations to the domestic market, the hospitality industry, and the public sector. Each year, 7 billion people consume and throw away 200 billion bottles of water. Only 30% on average is recycled with the other 70% of this waste ending up in landfills and oceans and it is now the biggest killer of marine life. ProAcqua’s refill stations provide premium, chilled still and sparkling water at a fraction of the cost of bottled water. ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESS: The key to our success is threefold. COST: • The cost of water is significantly lower than bottled water QUALITY: • Our water is microfiltered and uv sanitized with a hygienic delivery system. ENVIRONMENT: • No plastic means no waste and therefore a reduction in the cost and impact of waste disposal We have established refill stations in Australia, Singapore, and South America, and are now branching into the USA, Asia, NZ and other European countries. HOW WE DID IT: We began with a vision of providing the public with outstanding outdoor water fountains similar to those of the Roman aqueduct. We work with councils and universities to place the machines in high traffic outdoor areas where people need to conveniently access high quality drinking water. There is currently no higher priority than addressing environmental issues on a global scale. Water is essential in everyday life. Use our units will accelerate awareness of these vital issues and more importantly will help us all advance a step further towards the solution to this global problem.
