Proactio - Class Actions

Proactio, a subsidiary of Raymond Chabot Inc, is a firm primarily offering class action services. When we are involved in a class action, it is because we have been mandated by the Superior Court, or by the parties. We may then be mandated to be the claims’ administrator, to disseminate notices to class members, to communicate with class members or to support the parties with our expertise. We therefore play a different role than law firms in class actions and do not represent the claim or the defense. Proactio also offers their services in the context of other mandates for claims management, such as in a company liquidation. We may then be called upon to develop a claims process, communicate with those concerned by the process, and ensure the distribution of cheques or Interac transfers. In these other mandates, we may be mandated by the liquidator or by the company directly.
