A new way to do pro bono. In the US, at least 30 million low-income people experience a life-impacting, non-criminal legal emergency for which they can’t get legal help each year. Through Proboknow, low-income clients can access the free civil legal help they need without having to navigate a labyrinth of overworked legal aid organizations. At the same time, Proboknow makes doing pro bono work as efficient, convenient, and enjoyable as possible for attorneys. No matter which stage they are at in their careers, Proboknow enables each and every attorney to both become a better attorney and a Champion of Justice. New attorneys and attorneys who would like to move into new practice areas are able to gain the practical experience and mentorships they need while providing desperately needed help to those in need. Experienced attorneys can either provide pro bono assistance directly to clients, on their own, or double the impact of their pro bono work by mentoring less experienced attorneys. Through mentoring, they are able to not only ensure quality representation to clients, but also invaluable training to budding attorneys. Mentoring also allows experienced attorneys to pass off the less appealing, more time-intensive grunt work involved in pro bono to mentees who need that experience. For every attorney interested in pro bono, Proboknow provides a much more convenient and efficient way to find and connect with pro bono clients, as well as to find the help and resources needed during pro bono representation.
