Productivity Hub

The New Life Neighbourhood Centre (NLNC) Productivity HUB provides wrap-around supports to individuals seeking to rebuild their lives and become more productive and self-sufficient. Productivity HUB offers self-empowerment workshops, skills training, coaching, and coordinated supports geared toward readiness for employment and other productive pursuits. Self-empowerment Workshops The journey of Productivity HUB participants begins with an 8-week self-empowerment workshop, where they are encouraged to look inwardly, challenge existing mindsets and develop a renewed sense of hope. Coaching & Mentoring and Coordinated Supports Halfway through the Self-empowerment Workshops, Productivity HUB learners are provided with one-on-one coaching and mentoring in implementing action steps towards their life rebuilding goals. Through the Coaching and Mentoring support, participants are connected to relevant resources and community service providers. Skills Training While being coached, HUB learners are provided with skills training to support their pursuit of becoming productive and self-sufficient. The HUB, in collaboration with Durham College and other community service providers, provides Employability and Essential Skills Training. Typically, this is a 14-week program that aims to prepare individuals for gainful employment and other productive pursuits via a series of training workshops. Access to Community Resources Productivity HUB provides participants with a venue to connect with fellow participants and work on their projects while accessing productivity tools such as computers, printer and the internet. All these components ensure that those individuals who want to become self-sufficient, are adequately and consistently supported. We utilize the power of education, supported by individualized coaching and relevant resources of the community, to provide coordinated support to individuals who want to rebuild their lives.
