Professional Prep Charter School - Tfoa

We are a highly innovative public charter school located in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Founded and opened in August 2011, on the 3rd floor of PS/IS 308, we now serve up to Grade 6, and intend to expand to serve grades K-12 soon as we complete our merger with the Anew School and become “Ember Charter Schools for Mindful Education, Innovation & Transformation.” You can visit our new beta site at We offer a vision for our school that is very different from most charter and traditional public schools. Our vision is to provide our children with a dynamic, holistic learning experience to prepare students to become the future professionals (lawyers, doctors, engineers, etc.) who will lead our global society in the 21st Century. We utilize Socratic-inquiry, social-emotional and executive functioning skills development to create a student centered, data driven and mastery focused schooling environment, enabling us to hold ourselves and each other accountable for the most important outcome: high student agency that yields high student achievement.
