ProfPay is authorised and regulated by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority as a Payment Services Provider (Reference Number 569954) and is pioneering the first ‘Click & Collect’ shopping service specifically designed for markets currently excluded from international eCommerce. International eCommerce is virtually non-existent in developing markets, as the high risk of fraud generally precludes the availability of major payment systems, and local cards are rarely accepted by international retailers. In addition delivery is highly problematic, as African addresses make standard international shipping options virtually impossible. ProfPay enables eCommerce in these markets by providing merchants a purpose-built UK-based secure payments system and handling the logistics of delivery. ProfPay will launch in Ghana in late 2013, and will roll-out to the rest of sub-Saharan Africa and other key developing markets.
