Project Desi

Project DESI is an initiative by Enactus Motilal Nehru College, set up in 2014, to improve the deplorable state of dogs and to eradicate rabies.DESI, in this model, stands for Duty to Empathize, Sterilize and Immunize stray dogs. It aims to conduct sterilization and vaccination drives along with creating awareness about animal welfare in different parts of Delhi - NCR. As suggested by the WHO, Spaying, and Neutering is considered the most humane way to reduce the number of homeless dogs on the streets. Vaccination helps in reducing the risks of dog-bite-related diseases like Rabies etc. As a part of this project, we also provide a sustainable source of income to freelance drivers and underprivileged women by requiring them to contribute to the growth of our projects in different ways. So far, as a consequence of our team members' efforts, we have improved the life and health conditions of over 1100+ dogs.
