Project Dot

Project Dot's mission is to provide feminine hygiene products to homeless and low income girls, women, binary and transmen to give them dignity and help take the hassle of having their monthly cycles while raising awareness of the need for proper hygiene and generating community support for the homeless and low income community. Project Dot was founded by two Las Vegas teenagers who wanted to make a difference in their community. They volunteered at many homeless shelters in the community and saw that many of the homeless people coming to the food kitchens were women and that hygiene kits were geared for men. They put two and two together and realized that the women on the streets and low-income women and girls didn't have any tampons or pads to help them when it was their time of the month. Carrying around boxes of feminine hygiene items is not practical when you are homeless and many girls are reluctant to go to their school nurse when they start their monthly cycle. That's why Project Dot distributes monthly hygiene kits in a small decorative bag to those who need these items, when they need them.
