Project Soylentblue Worms Work
With our initiative worms@work, we are currently piloting small-scale mealworm farming in local, urban ecologies — connecting kitchen and garden waste to the production of healthy proteins and frass, within a community context. In Mai 2022 we received funding from the municipality of Rotterdam to open a mini-farm in Arboretum Penrecht, a community vegetable garden. It is our ambition to future replicate and expand this pilot, developing a decentralised business case. Worms@work is a by Project SoylentBlue. This is a research and awareness initiative aiming to find ways to collaborate with mealworms and other critters in a circular economy - in the widest sense - cooperating with a wide variety of partners. Funded by: Municipality of Rotterdam (Citylab01-subsidie) Provence of South-Holland (MIT-haalbaarheidssubsidie)
