Protechos

PRoTechos is a 501(c)(3) and PR 1101.01 nonprofit organization in Puerto Rico dedicated to training residents in basic carpentry and repairing roofs in underserved communities. We address two critical needs on the island: the lack of safe housing and the shortage of skilled construction workers. Our model combines roof reconstruction with hands-on vocational training, empowering participants to learn essential carpentry skills while improving the safety and resilience of their own communities. Graduates are supported in securing apprenticeships and employment opportunities with local construction businesses. Through this dual-impact approach, PRoTechos strengthens families, expands workforce capacity, and helps build more resilient communities across Puerto Rico.
