Provendi Laboratoire

Provendi Laboratoire was created in Haute-Savoie in 1950 by a Franco-Swiss industrialist. For several decades, the company only produced one kind of soap, familiar to all French schoolchildren: the rotating yellow soap dispenser. Over the past 20 years, Provendi has developed exceptional know-how in the production of traditional liquid soaps (Marseille, Aleppo, Black Soap, etc.). The plant oils are still prepared in cauldrons under the watchful eye of the Master Soapmaker. The company has unique expertise in saponification and dilution operations, as well as in laboratory research. Monitoring the saponification process is a complex affair requiring a great deal of experience – controlling the temperature, observing the aspect of the soap paste being formed, recording the odours, tasting the paste, etc.
