Proximity is a multi-media company founded by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian with a mission to create event-driven feature films, television, soundtracks and podcasts that look to bring audiences closer together through stories involving often-overlooked subject matters. They were the team behind the critically acclaimed 2025 box-office smash SINNERS, starring Michael B. Jordan, which has grossed over $365M globally to date. Past film projects include the two-time Academy Award-winning JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH, SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY, and CREED which grossed over $275M theatrically. Recent releases include Marvel Studios’ IRONHEART series on Disney+, the National Geographic docuseries HURRICANE KATRINA: A RACE AGAINST TIME, which reached #1 on Hulu, and the animated series EYES OF WAKANDA on Disney+. Proximity also produced the documentary HOMEROOM with Hulu, co-produced STEPHEN CURRY: UNDERRATED with Apple Original Films, A24 and Unanimous Media, as well as ANTHEM, with Onyx Collective as part of the company’s overall deal with Disney Television. Proximity Music produced the soundtracks for SINNERS, JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH, SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY, and the official soundtrack and score for BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER and CREED Proximity Audio produces the Webby Honoree podcast IN PROXIMITY and created and produced WAKANDA FOREVER: THE OFFICIAL BLACK PANTHER PODCAST, written and hosted by Ta-Nehisi Coates and winner of the 2024 NAACP Image Award and Webby Award.
