Prv Performance
PRV Performance has developed a variable-area Venturi for automobile engines, whereby airflow is regulated by sonic velocity as the piston approaches the bottom of the intake cycle. Airflow is not controlled before the bottom of the intake cycle, because pressure is recovered in the Venturi discharge. Consequently, less work is wasted pulling air into the engine, resulting in improved engine efficiency. PRV induction reduces fuel consumption, increases torque, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions - at no additional cost relative to a conventional manifold system. Consequently, smaller, lighter engines are facilitated with PRV induction, particularly when coupled with a turbo charging system. Independent dynamometer testing has demonstrated a 15 to 20% improvement in torque across the entire throttle range while concurrently delivering substantial fuel economy improvement.
