The Protestant Social Centre Antwerp vzw (het PSC Antwerpen vzw) exists already almost 45 years. PSC stands for not settling for injustice, for initiative under protest, for sustained humanity. PSC is a warm movement from and with people. Believing together that things can be done differently and act accordingly! If necessary, against the wind. Full of color, good courage and fresh ideas. PSC is deeply rooted in the city and always on the move! Since 1979 is the Protestant Social Centre active and known in Antwerp as an initiator of various projects with and for people in difficulties, mainly people in poverty and people fleeing. Throughout the various projects, presence and equality are always the starting point. Our protest, based on hope, is constructive: we don't beat around the bush, we stand up for those who need it. We are convinced that only when everyone really counts, can a society move forward. As Protestants, protesting is in our blood. 500 years ago, Luther also stood up against structural social injustice. He came up with 95 statements; following his example, we bundle our protest into 9,5 focal points, on which our work is inspired time and again. Originated from the enthusiasm of a few Protestants and grown into a tree with many branches and cuttings, the PSC works with support from the government, churches and charities, and in partnership with good partners and allies. Volunteers are also very important here. The PSC Antwerp is a true volunteer organization with committed people from all walks of life, from different countries, cultures and religions and sources of inspiration, together for a better world!
