Psu Environmental Professional Program

The Environmental Professional Program (EPP) at Portland State University offers practical, state-of-the-science training to graduate students and professionals by offering a River Restoration Certificate, a Wetland Delineation Certificate, and other professional development credit opportunities. Our classes are offered in short-course format and focus on the skills and knowledge required to implement a wide-range of environmental projects. Major topics include: ecology, analytical methods, field techniques, regulations, and project management. EPP Courses can be taken for CEU and PDH credit. EPP courses cannot be used for academic credit. EPP courses are developed and taught by practicing experts from government agencies, universities, consulting firms, and non-governmental organizations. Our participants come from a variety of local, regional and federal agencies; tribes; environmental consulting firms; watershed councils, and more. We offer a scholarship that can be used for tuition for the five core classes of the River Restoration Certificate. The goal of this scholarship is to increase participation from populations typically underrepresented in the field of environmental science and from geographic regions outside the Portland metro area.
