PT. Giant Sumarindo with main business focus in the upstream and midstream sector of oil and gas, is part of SURBA GROUP, which is a group of companies that operates mainly as PERTAMINA’s distributor in the sector of fuel distribution both for industrial and retail market. It also markets fuel derivative products such as lubricants and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Although formally established in 1983, the company history can be traced back to 1950s since CV. KALIMANTAN was first established as an agent for STANVAC (Standard Oil associated company that had an early oil operation in South Sumatra before the establishment of PERTAMINA). As a manifestation of its commitment in the business of fuel and its derivatives, periodically the companies have received numerous awards from PERTAMINA as The Largest Industrial Fuel Transporter, Best Sales of Lubricant Agent, and First Prize as LPG Distributor.
