Flexibility Is The Key Every situation is different and PTM’s response and resourcing changes accordingly. Typically, there are two routes to engaging on a project; Direct Engagement or Manage & Reset. Direct Engagement Where the specific need or role has been identified, one of the PTM Advisory team will be engaged to deliver the outcomes. This might be for a functional role such as CFO or for a specific requirement such as Chairman for capital raising or interim CEO to cover a specific project or time-period. Manage & Reset Situations typically arise when a business is under-performing against expectation or facing more severe challenges, such as breaking banking covenants, shortfalls in cash or pressures due to an under-funded final salary pension scheme. In these situations we usually adopt a three phase approach over 30 days, 100 days and 6 months plus. Phase 1 will produce a report to summarise the situation, highlight areas of concern and opportunity for value creation with recommendation for next steps. Phase 2 will review key value drivers and strength of management and produce a detailed plan of action for delivery by management or ourselves. Phase 3 may see us being requested by the sponsor to take direct control to deliver the action plan.
