Ptsa Teacher Training

Every child deserves a great education, and great teachers make that possible. At PTSA, our mission is to empower the next generation of primary educators through immersive, school-based training that prepares them to make a lasting difference in their communities. Our School Direct programme is designed to give trainees the strongest possible start to their teaching careers. Working in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University and a wide network of local schools, we offer a full-time, one-year route into teaching that blends academic learning with real classroom experience from day one. As a training teacher with PTSA Schools Direct training route, you will- Train in real classrooms from the start, gaining experience across Key Stage 1 and 2- Receive evidence-informed training led by outstanding local practitioners and university tutors- Belong to a supportive, city-wide training community, with pastoral care from PTSA and weekly mentoring- Develop inclusive teaching practices, with opportunities to train in mainstream and special school settings- Build deep expertise in primary education, supported by subject-specific input and reflective practice- Graduate with QTS and a PGCE, including up to 60 Master’s credits, ready to thrive in the profession- Be well-prepared for the next phase of their career, with the confidence and skills to lead a balanced, impactful teaching life.
