Public Street

Public Street is a platform for experimentation with place and space. A civic lab aimed at subverting the street and built forms through collaborative place-making, guerrilla interventions, talks, workshops, walks, publication and reading groups. Public Street was established out of frustration at the limited state of the discussion surrounding 'place'- both in terms of who is involved and the method of exploration. We aim to interrogate and play with the concept of space, and better understand when and how it turns into place and who is involved in this process. Public Street is a civic lab in which to explore, provoke and experiment with new ideas and urban issues. We aim to be critical but constructive, and highly collaborative in our approach.
