PublicServiceWorks brings together experienced practitioners dedicated to helping leaders and communities turn public service values into practical, collaborative action. We work with others to achieve significant, meaningful change — which, as anyone who’s tried knows, is easier said than done. Public and not-for-profit leaders today aren’t looking for business as usual. Years of austerity, rising demand, shrinking budgets, and now the aftershocks of Covid-19 have made the old ways unworkable. Moving forward can feel like entering a maze. We help people find their way. The PSW team has worked locally, nationally and internationally to support transformative efforts across the public and voluntary sectors. We’ve worked alongside innovative leaders as they’ve moved between organisations — sometimes even across generations — and have often become the keepers of institutional memory ourselves. We operate in the space between decision and delivery — where intent meets reality — helping partners move from good ideas to tangible results. Our team has led pioneering work in- Co-designed research and evaluation focused on real-world outcomes - Large-scale facilitation and systems thinking approaches - Service and process design grounded in systems thinking and real-world complexity - Health and social care policy grounded in implementation - Resource development for change and innovation - Leadership programmes that turn experience into insight Change only happens when people are genuinely connected to it, and to each other. If we forget to take people fully into account or lose focus on the change itself, progress stalls. But when co-production and purpose align, extraordinary things can happen. That belief sits at the core of our practice.
