Pustaka Temu

Pustaka Temu is an initiative established by three high school friends. Within eight weeks, we have played with 100+ children in the area, providing numerous fun educative activities and 50+ varieties of books. Badan Pusat Statistik reported that there are only 736 accredited libraries all across West Java, a province where the three friends were born and grew up. The lack of access has become the one of main obstacles to increasing Indonesian reading interest, alongside poverty and the high price of one printed book. Thus, Pustaka Temu holds a reading space where local residents of all ages can read books for free. Along with that, children can also express themselves through drawing and coloring. Every weekend children gather up to spend a joyful afternoon by reading and making simple yet educative arts together.
