In collaboration with CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency, Pyrochar is revolutionizing the metals industry with sustainable, net-zero solutions. Our patented SSP Pyrolysis technology produces Metallurgic Char, a carbon-negative alternative to coal and coke, specifically designed for Blast Furnace and Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking. By replacing traditional fuels, we’re helping the metals industry reduce emissions and move closer to net-zero targets. Beyond metallurgical applications, Pyrochar produces- Biochar: For use in agriculture and as a reductant in metallurgy- Bio-Oil: A feedstock for biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)- Clean Electricity: Generated from by-products of our process- Carbon Credits: Supporting industries in achieving sustainability goals. The production of primary metals accounts for 10% of global emissions, with 1.9 tonnes of CO₂ emitted per tonne of steel. Our CSIRO-developed technology offers a scalable, sustainable solution by converting forestry residues and agricultural waste into high-purity carbon while sequestering CO₂.
